You have the type of people that love spring and summer, wearing shorts, applying sun cream and the lighter nights. However, there are other types of people who love autumn and winter, wearing scarf’s, lighting candles and those darker nights.
I cant speak for everyone but most people are either one or the other, and I’m definitely an autumn and winter person. I find this time of year so much more festive and busy.
I’m going to break down the top 5 reasons why I think that autumn is the best season.
The Clothes - Ok, I think that everybody knows that autumn clothing gives so much better scope to style with. Why? Well you have scarfs, hats, over-size coats, gloves, jumpers and boots. Everything just looks so much smarter.
The Occasions and Holidays- HALLOWEEN & Christmas! It’s the best time of year, there’s sweets, scary movies, decorating your house and everything is so cozy around that time of year. Plus add in Bonfire Night, I feel that so many people forget this night, but it’s a cool night, you get fire works and sparklers, hot chocolate and wrapping up warm. And of course Christmas is right around the corner!
The Scenery. Autumn is probably the prettiest time of the year, everything looks like its glowing with the orange leaves. This is the time of year that gives the last rays of energy for nature to feed on after summer, and then everything starts to get ready for winter.
The Make-up. Obviously not everyone loves, or does make up, but the different looks that you can achieve is endless. Wether warmed tones, burgundy palettes, Halloween make-up or just dark lips there’s a whole palette of colours to explore during this season. I really feel that you can experiment much more and have many more shades to work with (and always looks great).
The Candles. Lastly but probably my ultimate favourite aspect about autumn. Candles make everything look even more vibrant during autumn. I think that the smells of autumn scented candles is so much better than the summer equivalent. A vanilla scent works much better in autumn. I get way more excited about lighting candles at this time of year than at any other. The best type of candle for autumn and winter are tapered candles, the long white ones that you see in hardware stores. They’re simple but still make a room look so much prettier.
There are probably many more reasons why autumn is the best time of year, but these are my top 5.
